Reminder - Operational Dates for Easter

The Auckland Region has had a severe weather warning issued for heavy rain and strong winds commencing tomorrow (Wednesday 16th April) afternoon. Ports of Auckland have already advised that they will cease operations from 7pm on Wednesday to 7am on Friday for safety reasons. There will therefore be a delay in containers being collected/delivered from/to the port leading into the long weekend. We will do our best to get containers collected/delivered as soon as possible. Please note: Hobbs Global will not be liable for any detention or demurrage charges which may be incurred during this time. At this stage, our 3PL Warehouses are expected to remain open; there will inevitably be delays as respective carriers navigate delays. If you have any urgent containers, freight, orders or deliveries, please reach out to the Hobbs Team so we can prioritise where possible. Stay safe!

As I'm sure you're all well aware from the noise coming out of the US at present, US President Trump has signed an Executive Order on reciprocal tariffs, meaning that goods exported from NZ to the USA are subject to an additional 10% tariff from 5th April 2025. There are numerous products such as steel, aluminium, key auto mobiles parts, lumber, copper, semi-conductors, and pharmaceuticals that may be subject to additional or alternative sector-specific tariffs. New Zealand's export of goods to the US were worth just under $9 billion last year; approximately 12.7% of all NZ exports during the same time period. Tariffs imposed on other countries by the US are continuing to be monitored as well to determine how these will affect international trade.
