Further Weather Related Delivery Delays
Following on from yesterday's notice, carriers have reached out this morning to advise of further weather related delays.
States of Emergency are in place across the Ōtorohanga, Waipā, Tararua, Rangitīkei and Manawatū Districts.
Christchurch and Wellington are both currently on watch with potential States of Emergency notices still to come.
Ferry Cancellations due to large swells and gale-force winds have occurred over the past few days with both the Inter-Islander and Bluebridge services continuing to monitor the situation.
Strong Wind and Rain Warnings have been issued for Tairāwhiti Gisborne, Parts of Hawke's Bay, Wairarapa, The Tararua District and Tararua Range, Whanganui, Taihape, Manawatū, Wellington, Parts of Marlborough, Kaikōura District, Parts of Canterbury, and Banks Peninsula.
Our carriers are working to minimise disruption and keep freight moving up and down the country by utilising alternative routes where available. However, please expect delays to continue over the next few days as our carrier networks work to navigate road closures, severe weather and backlogs while maintaining people safety.
